Obituary of John Richard Postman

John Richard Postman, 92, passed away July 8, 2013 at his home in Osage Beach, Missouri after a battle with melanoma cancer. John served in the U.S. Navy Medical Corp in WWII, two years aboard the LST 464 in the South Pacific. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin Stout and received his Masters Degree from the University of Missouri Columbia. In 1948 he married Marjorie Leland in Waupace, Wisconsin. His career began at Northwestern Louisiana University, Natchitoches. Then he switched to the lumber business and had a 40 year career in panel board products doing research, development, sales and marketing in Tacoma, Washington and Portland, Oregon. In 1991 John and Marjorie moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas for 20 wonderful retirement years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and active community volunteer. John was preceded in death by his parents, John and Jennie (Nauta) Postman and his sister, Betty (Postman) Pye. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marjorie, daughter, Jacklynn (David) Krokson, grandsons Bentley (Melissa) Krokson, Brandon Krokson and great granddaughter, Devin Krokson.
