Obituary of Mark Leo Overmann

Mark Leo Overmann, age 75, of Rocky Mount, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at his home in Rocky Mount. Mark was born May 31, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Henry and Estelle (Fechter) Overmann. Mark was united in marriage on May 7, 1960 in St. Louis, Missouri to Barbara Sliepen and together they shared 53 years of marriage until his death. Mark served his country proudly in the United States National Guard. Mark worked as a warehouse manager for several companies in the St. Louis area before his retirement ten years ago. He was a member of Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church in Lake Ozark, Missouri where he was a 4th degree Knight of Columbus. Mark loved spending time outdoors, particularly camping and was a past Scout Master for 10 years. Mark loved to Bar-B-Que year round no matter what the weather was like. He was a very patriotic man who loved his country and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Mark is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara, of the home; two sons, Mark Overmann and wife, Debbie, of Lorain, Ohio, and Chris Overmann and wife, Barb, of Shawnee, Kansas; two daughters, Roberta Marks and husband, Mitch, of Orlando, Florida, and Theresa Basler and husband, Craig, of Ballwin, Missouri; one brother, Richard Overmann and wife, Christine, of Chesterfield, Missouri; two sisters, Carolyn Southard and husband, Ches, of Fenton, Missouri, and Rosemarie Merchant and husband, Stu, of Spanish Lake, Missouri; ten grandchildren, Melissa, Kyle and wife Sara, Corey, Emily, Megan, Connor, Alec, Alyssa, Eli and Nathan. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother Father William Overmann. Additional Services in St. Louis: Visitation--Sunday, August 25, from 3:00-8:00 p.m. at Schraders Funeral Home, Manchester Road, St. Louis, Missouri. Funeral Mass--Monday August 26, 10:00 a.m. st. Joseph's Catholic Church, St. Louis, Missouri.
