Obituary of Arlon Byrd

Arlon Byrd, age 76, of Lebanon, Missouri, departed this life on Friday, September 20, 2013, at his home in Lebanon. Arlon was born October 21, 1936 in Scranton, Kentucky, the son of Henry and Elizabeth (Van Cleve) Byrd. Arlon was married in 1957 to Virginia Swaim in Wichita, Kansas. Together they shared 56 years of marriage until his death. Arlon served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. He was a consultant for his own rubber lining business. Arlon enjoyed traveling and fishing, but more than anything, he loved being with his family. Arlon is survived by his wife, Virginia, of the home; one daughter, Kathy Byrd, of Nixa, Missouri; two sons, Scott Byrd, and Steve Byrd and wife, Brenda, both of Lebanon, Missouri; four sisters, Kathryn, Ogilene, Geraldine, and Bonnie; seven grandchildren,; Wesley Byrd, Courtney Crain, Christopher Byrd, Logan Crain, Trevor Byrd, Wyatt Byrd, and Elloit Byrd; and one great granddaughter, Rowan Crain. Arlon was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Elizabeth Byrd; four sisters, Edna, Zora, Gertrude, and Esther; and three brothers, Garland, Marlon and Edward.
