Obituary of Katherine Colleen Smith

Katherine Colleen Rogers Smyth, age 65, of Montreal, Missouri, died peacefully Wednesday, September 25, 2013, at her residence in Montreal, Missouri. Katherine was born July 5, 1948 in Roach, Missouri, the daughter of Oras F. and Bertha Hemphill Rogers. She was united in marriage to Donald Smyth who preceded her in death in 1991. Katherine enjoyed helping the elderly and had worked as a CMA in several nursing homes throughout her life. In her spare time, she enjoyed traveling, sewing, fashion, and cars. She also enjoyed watching television crime shows. More than anything, she loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. Katherine is survived by her sons; Peter Nunn of Oak Grove, Missouri, and Johnny Nunn and wife, Cindy, of Lucedale, Mississippi; her brothers; Carl Rogers and wife, Mildred, of Camdenton, Missouri, Roger Rogers of Roach, Missouri, and Ronnie Rogers of Montreal, Missouri; her sisters, Bernice Wood and husband, Junior, of Eldon, Missouri, Shirley Yardley of Kaiser, Missouri, Patsy Marie Wyrick and husband, Rusty, of Kansas City, Kansas, Norma Rogers and husband, David, of Macks Creek, Missouri, and Bonnie Bechtel of Montreal Missouri; eight grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren, along with several other relatives and friends. Katherine was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Smyth; her parents Oras and Bertha Rogers; one brother, Charlie Rogers; and three sisters, Ona Jane Bruscher, Ilene Rogers, and Dolores June Hutchsen.
