Obituary of Loretta M. Lormis

Loretta M. Lormis, age 79 years and 10 months, stepped over into her eternal mansion on October 19, 2013 at Cox Hospital, Springfield, Missouri. Loretta was one of seven children born to John and Lucinda (Perryman) Owens. Loretta was born on November 28, 1933 at Conway, Missouri. At the age of 9, she met the love of her life, Charles Lormis. They were married on March 6, 1950 and together they shared 63 years. She gave her life to Jesus, her Blessed Savior, in May of 1962 and faithfully served Him. Loretta taught at the Renton Bible School then founded and pastored Little Chapel of the Valley in Snoqualmie, Washington for several years. In 1991 she and Charles moved back to Missouri and began building her dream of a campground. For 22 years, Spring Up O Well Campground in Eldridge, Missouri held old fashioned camp meetings. Loretta loved her flowers. She was a member of the Springfield, Missouri American Iris Society where she won numerous ribbons. Frequently you would find her at the Lebanon farmers market where she gave away more flowers than she sold. Loretta is survived by her husband, Charles of the home; her sons Charles (Bonnie) Lormis, Liberty Lake, Washington; Reverend Roy (Kathy) Lormis, House Springs, Missouri; Reverend Robert (Laura) Lormis, Lebanon, Missouri; David (Christine) Lormis, Horicon, Wisconsin; daughters Cindy (Reverend Myron) Fesler, Camdenton, Missouri; Alice (Reverend John) Beauprey, Horicon, Wisconsin; 19 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren; her sister Wanda Ginnings, Eldridge, Missouri; her brothers Donald Owens, Licking, Missouri; Jimmy Owens, Willard, Missouri; along with several other relatives and many friends. Loretta will be greatly missed by all. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Leon Owens, Jerry Owens and Bill Owens, an infant brother and a step grandson, Robert Keeper.
