Obituary of Herman L. Von Sande

Herman Lawrence (Larry) Von Sande, Sr., age 75, of Roach, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at Lake Regional Health Center, Osage Beach, Missouri. Larry was born May 22, 1938 in Chicago, Cooke County, Illinois to Herman and Edith (Placek) Von Sande. Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army entering September 8, 1961 and was honorably discharged on April 5, 1962. Larry was united in marriage to Dianne Zawodniak on November 25, 1967. They were married for 25 years, and from this marriage five children were born. Larry worked as an auto and boat mechanic for 22 years at Tan-Tara before retiring to care for his farm and family. Larry really enjoyed his farm, especially raising cattle. He loved photographing wildlife on his farm and recently growing a large corn patch and a small garden. He also enjoyed boating, riding his motorcycle and driving his convertible with the top down on warm sunny days. He enjoyed attending church. He also loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Larry is survived by his daughters, Tammi Owens and husband Robert of Macks Creek, Missouri; Sherri Von Sande of Macks Creek, Missouri; Angi Klug and husband Bobby of Montreal, Missouri; sons Lawrence Von Sande and wife Stephanie of Roach, Missouri; Armond Von Sande and wife Jodie of Osage Beach, Missouri; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; and siblings Dale, David and Evelyn; along with many other friends and relatives. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Martha McClintock. Larry will be extremely missed by all who knew and loved him.
