Obituary of Georgia Bond Svetlich

Former Kansas City, KS resident Georgia Bon Svetlich, 90, passed away November 13, 2013 at her home in Brumley, MO. At her request, no funeral service will be held. A memorial service will be held at a later date with the immediate family. Georgia Svetlich was born June 17, 1923 in Kansas City, Kansas to Gilbert Bernard and Inez Bond. Georgia was the first woman foreman for North American Aviation, a Kansas City based plant that made bomber planes during WWII. She later worked 23 years for Proctor & Gamble until her retirement. She was an active member of Grandview, Faith, Hope and Riverview Baptist Churches. Georgia lived in Kansas City until the death of her husband in 1986. In 1987, she moved to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri to be with her only son and his family where she lived for the next 25 years. Georgie, as she was called by those who knew her best, exemplified the bravery and hardworking spirit of the Greatest Generation. She was a truly great woman who was the heart of her family for four generations. She had a simple, yet profound wisdom and sense of humor that never failed to make others laugh with outright glee. Georgie lived music and she leaves behind many wonderful memories of the songs and gospel hymns she sang and played on her old church organ. She was a generous spirit who lived her family and friends with a depth, loyalty, and sincerity that made everyone who felt her embrace feel safe and cared for. She was much-loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Svetlich, and her sister Mildred Bean. She is survived by her son, Dennis Svetlich and his wife Judi; granddaughter Mary Katherene Soylu and husband, Firat; grandson Mark Richard Svetlich and wife, Melissa; great-grandchildren Mira and Ayla Soylu; and special �adopted� family Ashley, James, Grace, and Judah Tillet.
