Obituary of Verle Edgar Friesner
Verle Edgar Friesner, age 80, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, departed this life on Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri.
Verle was born June 23, 1933 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of Edgar Louis and Nellie May Friesner.
Verle was united in marriage on June 22, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa to Gladys Rooney who preceded him in death.
Verle and his wife Gladys owned and operated one of the first resorts located at the lake, for nearly forty years. Verle also owned VR excavating in Lake Ozark. More recently he had driven a school bus for School of the Osage for eleven years.
Verle served several years with both the Lake Ozark Police Department and Lake Ozark Fire Departments, and also served a time as a Camden County Deputy. Verle had been a member of the Lake Ozark Shrine Club since 1991 and a member of Linn Creek Masonic Lodge. He was an avid musician who loved playing and giving lessons on steel guitar.
Verle is survived by his son, David Friesner and wife Stacy of Valles Mines, Missouri, three grandchildren, Alexis, Rickie and Logan.
Aside from his wife Gladys, Verle was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Nellie May Friesner.
