Obituary of Justin Keeney

Justin Scott (Jay) Keeney, age 24, of Eldon, Missouri, departed this life on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Jay was born November 3, 1989 in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Ralph III and Jennifer (Wiebe) Keeney and Frank and Mandy Smith. Jay graduated from School of the Osage in 2008. He was an active member of the student body where he was involved in Student Council, FBLA and Choir, and was President of the French Club, Drama Club and Key Club. He played football all four years of High School and was class treasurer. After high school Jay attended Lindenwood University in St. Charles, Missouri for two years. He was a biology major and was a member of Alph Phi Omega Fraternity. Jay loved the outdoors, nature and hiking. He also enjoyed drawing. Jay was interested in social/political platforms as well and had joined a world-wide protest against Monsanto. Jay had professed his faith and was baptized at fourteen years of age. Jay was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ralph Keeney Jr. and grandmother, Sandy Smith. Jay is survived by his parents, Ralph III and Jennifer Keeney, of Eldon, Missouri, Frank and Mandy Smith, of St. Louis, Missouri, and Laura Smith, of St. Louis, Missouri; his sisters, Lexi Keeney, of Eldon, Missouri, and Sky Smith, of St, Louis, Missouri; his brothers, Mac Keeney, of Eldon, Missouri, and Max Smith, of St. Louis, Missouri; maternal grandparents, Richard and Sadie Wiebe, of Eldon, Missouri, maternal grandmother, Sandi Wier, of Florissant, Missouri; paternal grandparents, Linda and Armando Cardiel, of St. Louis, Missouri; paternal grandfather, Frank Smith, of St. Louis, Missouri; grandmothers, Sharon Keeney, of St. Louis, Missouri, Michel and Gary Meek, of St. Louis, Missouri; great maternal grandmother, Deloris Wiley, of Springfield, Missouri along with many other relatives and friends.
