Obituary of Vivian Marie Rowland

Vivian Marie (Booker) Rowland, age 78, of Climax Springs, Missouri, departed this life on Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Windsor Estates, Camdenton, Missouri. Vivian was born February 22, 1936 in Fort Monroe, Virginia, the daughter of Christopher and Dorothy Violet (Cramer) Booker. Dorothy passed away when Vivian was 7 years old and Christopher later married Grace, who became Vivian�s mother. Vivian was united in marriage to John Rowland on February 12, 1954 in Roach, Missouri and to this union five children were born. Vivian graduated from Camdenton High School in 1954. She and John moved to Yakima, Washington in 1955 where they worked in the apple orchards picking apples. They later returned to Camden County and she worked for the Flame Resort for over 42 years, spanning from 1966 through 2004. Vivian loved Elvis and enjoyed taking several trips to Graceland. She also enjoyed going to see her son race. Vivian loved the Lord, and had preached a few times at Pearson Branch Church in Climax Springs, Missouri. Vivian was a devoted and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend who will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved her. Vivian is survived by her five children; John Thomas Rowland, Jr., and wife, Rosie; Freddie Rowland; Mona Rickey; Arlene Wilkerson and husband, Murl; and Lillian Miller and husband, William; ten grandchildren, April Rowland, J.R. Rowland and wife, Stephanie, Rachel Davis and husband David, Jason Rickey and wife, Nacol, Matt Wilkerson and wife, Stephana, Nicole Morgan and husband, Cody, Violet Rowland and Joe, Thomas Baxter, Levi Miller and Goldie Miller; ten great-grandchildren, King Rowland Archer, Christopher Coffey, Nicholas Asbury, Dakota Davis, Mariah Davis, Abigail Morgan, Colton Morgan, Jake McAbee, Lillian Renee, and Payton Baxter. She is also survived by her mother Grace Booker and sister Margret Letterman of Macks Creek, Missouri. Aside from her birth mother, Vivian was preceded in death by her father, Christopher Booker and her husband John Rowland.
