Obituary of Billy Ray Buchanan

Billie Ray Buchanan, 80, of Lexington, SC, passed away Sunday, April 13, 2014. He was born November 17, 1933, to Ellis and Ireta (Siddons) Buchanan in Westmoreland, KS. He married Marjorie (Edwards) Buchanan on November 3, 1957, and they shared 51 years together. She preceded him in death in 2008. Bill is survived by his daughter, Karla (Buchanan) Ascencio and her husband Gino of San Diego, CA; his son, Brent Buchanan and his wife Lynn (Shannon) Buchanan of Lexington, SC.; five grandchildren, Eric (and wife Brittany), Allison and Zachary Buchanan, William Brimer and John Ascencio; two great-grandchildren, Amy and Hailey Brimer; and one brother, Robert (and wife Jean) Buchanan. Bill moved to Osage Beach, MO, in 1971, and owned Buchanan Insurors, working with his wife and son Brent. After retiring, he and Marge traveled extensively in their RV, enjoying visiting friends and especially their grandchildren. Eight years ago, Bill moved to Lexington, SC, to be near his family.
