Obituary of William T. Butler
William Teddy (Ted) Butler, age 71, of Lake Ozark, MO passed away Friday, April 25, 2014 at Boone Hospital, Columbia, MO.
Ted was born on August 13, 1942 in Kirksville, MO the son of Cecil Ray and Dorothy (Mathes) Butler.
Ted was united in marriage November 1, 1962 at Hedge City Baptist Church, Novelty, MO to Lois Lucille (Lou) Beck. Together they shared 51 years of marriage until his death.
Ted was a member of First Baptist Church of Grandview, MO. He was a man of many skills. Early in his life it was accounting and income tax preparation, then self-employed in construction, road maintenance and asphalting. His expertise in this area was sought and trusted by many.
Ted was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His ability to bring a smile to anyone was a true personal quality. His friendship was valued and will be cherished for a lifetime. He will be missed. His hobbies were varied. He loved to garden and share with everyone. Ted took pride planning travel trips, loved to read western books, enjoyed fishing in Canada, and was a true chef when preparing food on his smoker.
Ted is survived by his wife, Lois Lucille of the home; two sons, Wm. Bradley Butler of Lake Ozark, MO and Brent John Butler of Lake Ozark, MO; three brothers-in-law, Junior Kimmel of Unionville, MO, John E. Beck and wife, Evelyn of Grain Valley, MO and Harold D. Beck and wife, Rebecca of Huntsville, MO; four grandchildren, Ashley Butler, Carly Butler, Sarah Butler, and Lucas Butler; one great-granddaughter, Abigal Butler, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, Ray and Dorthey Butler; two sisters, Lois Lawrence and Loeta Kimmal; and a brother-in-law, Dean Lawrence.
