Obituary of Earl Antone Lipp

Earl Antone Lipp, age 77, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, departed this life Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Lake Regional Health Center in Osage Beach, Missouri. Earl was born September 23, 1936 in Dixon County, Nebraska, the son of Antone Earl and Dorothy (Hancok) Lipp. Earl served his country proudly in the United States Air Force. Earl married Patricia O�Gara on January 3, 1960 in Laurel Nebraska. In September 1960 he joined the staff of the Masonic Eastern Star Children�s Home. In 1966 he began a career with the United States Post Office. His careers also included working in electronics for many years in Columbus, Neb., Yankton, SD and Norfolk, Neb. Yankton is where he raised his family and he also owned and operated two �Earls Mini Marts�. In Olathe, Kansas he rejoined the Post Office and completed his 20 years. He retired in 2004 and moved to Lake Ozark, Missouri where he worked for Osage National Golf Course. His life was full and filled with joy for his family. Earl loved his wife, Pat of 55 years, his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren. He was a member Ozark Shrine Club, Masonic Lodge, Eastern Star and Consistory. He was an elder and active member of Lake Presbyterian Church in Osage Beach, Missouri. Earl had worn several hats and was also known as �Zippy� the clown. Zippy was a frequent face in parades at the Lake and in the Shrine clowns. Earl had also caught the acting bug at the lake and had just completed his ninth play in the community theater. Earl loved to sing on stage, in church and other opportunities. He had a great passion for living life to its fullest; he enjoyed fishing, boating, travel, and his acting and singing. He had a laugh that everyone loved. Earl is survived by his wife, Pat Lipp of Lake Ozark, MO, his three children, daughter Tammy and son-in-law Bob Wies of Murfreesboro, TN, daughter Criss and son-in-law Jeff Hastings of Owensboro, KY and son, Kenneth and daughter-in-law Cherry Lipp of Olathe, KS. His two siblings, sister, Darlene Stein of Omaha, NE, and brother Don and sister-in-law Linda Lipp of Lake Ozark, MO. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren, extended family and many special friends as well. Earl was also the adopted Grandpa of Sara Bacon.
