Obituary of Gordy Mack Glenn
Gordy Glenn, age 54, of Osage Beach, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, June 22, 2014.
Gordy was born April 22, 1960 in Nederland, Texas, the son of Ralph and Ruth (McMillan) Glenn. He was a man of many hats to include being a volunteer fireman during his younger years. To date back his love and hobby, Gordy was a butcher by trade, beginning when he was only 13 years old working at Shaws Grocery Store and ultimately moving to Camdenton, Missouri, in 1994 to open his very own meat shop, commonly known around town as The Butcher Shop where he was a local favorite for 15 years. He was a board member of the Camdenton Chamber of Commerce, active member of The Church at Osage Hills, and as a member of the National MS Society, Gateway Area Chapter, he organized many functions to provide education and support for Multiple Sclerosis. Gordy was united in marriage on June 21, 2003 in Osage Beach, Missouri, to JoAnna. He had a passion for his whole family, travel, jazz music and his ability to play the Saxophone. His humility and peace was something that carried him even until his final calling, as he was making his typical jokes and laughing. His ability to be a vessel to anyone that came in contact with him was like no other and has taught so many people different life lessons. Gordy was someone that you truly enjoyed being around and he could always see that silver lining. To say he will be missed would be an understatement so the celebration of his life will forever continue.
Gordy is survived by his loving wife, JoAnna and ex-wife Sharon Calder Glenn, his children, son Micah and wife Myranda of Kirbyville Texas, daughter Aubrey Glenn, of Lake Ozark, son Shawn and wife Lindsey Glenn, of Lake Ozark, step-daughter Kristen and husband Issac Kendrick, of Biloxi, MS, and step-son Daniel and wife Megan Eidson, of Osage Beach.
