Obituary of Orice Marie Miller

Orice Marie (Newton) Miller, age 92, of Camdenton, Missouri, passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 in Camdenton Windsor Estates, Camdenton, Missouri. Orice was born November 27, 1921 in Ira, Missouri to Arlie Lorenzo and Ida May Whitworth Newton. She was united in marriage to Homer Miller, her high school sweetheart on July 1, 1939, and they shared 64 years together until his passing on September 22, 2003. She was baptized as a young girl was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Orice graduated from Camdenton High School with the class of 1939. She played forward for the girl�s basketball team which never lost a game in four years. She was an avid sports fan her entire life, especially fishing and the St Louis Cardinals. Orice owned and operated a souvenir shop from 1950 to 1956. She later cooked at school and worked for Dickerson Supply. Orice was a devoted wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. Orice is survived by her children; Barbara Gregory and her husband,, Junior and Freida Muir; four grandchildren, Julie Muir, Brent Muir and wife Carol, John Cyrus and wife Bambi, and Tara Muir and husband Ed Ficenec; five great grandchildren, Jessica Lee and husband Joe, Brandon Rollag and wife Natsuka, Blake Rollag and wife Bethany and Madison Muir and Haydn Muir, great great grandchildren, Kyiia Rollag, Caleb Munger, Eva Lee, Hugo, Leo, & Julia Rollag, Brooklyn and Colton Rollag, along with other relatives and friends.. Orice was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Chester Newton, Ross Newton, and Bill Newton; her sisters Phyllis Anderton, Betty Stafford and Bessie Willis; her sons- in-law Jack Muir and Lee Roy Cyrus.
