Obituary of Joyce Jane Caven

Joyce Jane Caven, age 71, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri departed this life Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at her residence. Joyce was born March 21, 1943 in La Cygne, Kansas. She was the daughter of Elton and Mary Frances (Major) Whitfill. Joyce was married to James D. � J.D.� Caven August 26, 1965 in Mission, Kansas. They raised two children, David and Jennifer. Joyce was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Lake Ozark, Missouri. She was involved in several organizations including the Lake Area Choral, D.A.R., and P.E.O. Joyce loved singing and playing bridge and outdoor sports. Her greatest joy was her family. Joyce is survived by her husband J.D. of the home; one son, David and his wife, Ann, of Houston, Texas; one daughter, Jennifer Zimmer and husband, Peter, of Tann, Germany; six grandchildren; two brothers, Scott Whitfill and wife, Carol, of Sunrise Beach and Steven Whitfill and wife, Debbie, of Enid, Oklahoma; along with several other relatives and friends.
