Obituary of Karen Brown

Karen Brown, age 74, of Sunrise Beach, Missouri, departed this life Monday, September 29, 2014 at her residence in Sunrise Beach. Karen was born February 10, 1940 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Ira and Ruth (Cushman) Davis. She was united in marriage August 8, 1958 in Miami, Oklahoma to Ronald Brown and together they shared 56 years of marriage until her death. Karen was a loving wife and helpmate to her husband Ronald. She enjoyed her role as homemaker and was a caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. In her spare time Karen enjoyed painting and crafts of various kinds and she raised and sold dogs and birds as well. Karen is survived by her husband, Ronald Brown of the home; two sons, Robert Brown of Sunrise Beach, Missouri and Dr. Ronald Brown and wife Dr. Cynthia Brown of Chinquapin, North Carolina; her brother Jim Davis and wife, Linda, of Fall Brook, California; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren; along with several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Ira and Ruth Davis; her sisters Carol Williams (twin) and Diana Drain; and one granddaughter, Amanda.
