Obituary of John David Weiseman
Dave Weiseman, age 71, entered the gates of Heaven on Saturday, October 4, 2014 at his home in Osage Beach, Missouri.
Dave was born on September 19, 1943 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Gateway High School in Monroeville, Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelors Degree from Westmar College in Iowa and his Masters Degree in Education from Northern Illinois University.
Dave was married on June 4, 1966 in Pennsylvania to Alice Weiseman (Cotterell) and together they shared over 48 years of fun filled marriage.
Dave was a teacher in Naperville, Illinois for over thirty years. He was also a football and wrestling coach for many of those years. He managed several pools during the summers when he wasnt out on the water boating and skiing. He and Alice lived near water most of their 48 years together, and loved sharing time out on the water with family, friends, and anyone that Dave could find who was willing to join them at a moments notice. Dave was a man who believed in kids and was able to appreciate the ones who didnt like school. That was when Dave first received the nickname The Candy Man, because a small treat motivated quite well.
As a young man, Dave made the decision to follow God and accepted Jesus as his savior. While he accomplished so much and impacted so many people nothing made him more proud than his Christianity. While todays circumstances are sad for many of us, Dave is undoubtedly at his best and his happiest as he is now in Heaven with his Lord.
Surviving are wife Alice Weiseman, son Jay Weiseman and wife Alyssa of Fort Wayne, Indiana; son Matt Erickson and wife Kerry of Schererville, Indiana; sister Bonnie Morris and husband Chuck of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; sister-in-law June Wyne and husband Bob of Indiana, Pennsylvania; nephew Chuckie and wife LeeAnn of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; niece Amy Morris of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; niece Gracie Niederriter and husband Steve of Cheltenham, Pennsylvania; nephew John Merryman and wife Susan of McIntyre, Pennsylvania along with other relatives and friends.
2 Corinithians 5:17 Now we look inside, and what we see is that anyone united with the Messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. The old life is gone; a new life burgeons! Look at it! All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other.
