Obituary of Larry D. Behnken

Larry D. Behnken, age 77, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. Larry was born August 28, 1937 in Atlantic, Iowa, the son of Claus and Beulah (Keasey) Behnken. Larry spent his career as a commercial airline pilot with Ozark Airlines from 1965 through 1986. Larry finished his career with Trans World Airlines retiring in 1994. Larry was a member of the Ozark Silver Swallows and the Elks Club of Osage Beach. Throughout the years Larry has enjoyed boating, traveling, and spending time with both family and friends. Anyone acquainted with him knew that he lived life to the fullest. In 2006 Larry crossed paths with his future wife Nancy Susser. They were united in marriage December 6, 2012. They enjoyed winters in Florida, traveling across the country in their motor home, and cherished every moment they spent together. Larry was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and accomplishments and will cherish the memories shared with all. Larry is survived by his loving wife, Nancy J. Susser; one son, Cash A. Behnken of Saratoga, Wyoming; two daughters, Dana D. Parkison (Kevin) of Dexter, Iowa and Lori L. Jenkins of Waukee, Iowa; one sister, Shirley Winston of Atlantic, Iowa; three grandchildren Shawn Behnken of Menlo, Iowa, Lee Dwyer of Adel, Iowa, and Lindsy Macklin of Redfield, Iowa; three great-grandchildren, Izabella Behnken, Cooper Macklin, and Piper Macklin; two step-children, Garrett Histed (Jill) of Wesley Chapel, Florida and Dana Bienvenue (Michael) of South Bethlehem, New York; five step grandchildren, Logan Histed, Ethan Histed, Carson Histed, Brandon Bienvenue, and Ashley Bienvenue; along with several other relatives and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents Claus and Beulah Behnken; one sister Kathy Jo Behnken, and brother-in-law Forrest Winston.
