Obituary of Donald Lee Leap

Reverend Donald Lee Leap, age 85, passed away Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. Donnie was born February 16, 1929 in Windsor, Missouri, the son of Jack & Teresa (Miller) Leap. He married Thelma Ann Eidson July 10, 1949 in Eldridge Missouri. Donnie was a member of Parrack Grove Missionary Baptist Church. On January 3, 1954, he told the church that he felt God had called him to preach and was ordained as a minister on July 10, 1955. He ministered at several small country churches for nearly 53 years, while maintaining a full time job with the Camdenton Post Office. He retired from the Post Office after 30 years of employment. Donnie enjoyed being outside, walking in the woods praying, spending time with his family and making peanut brittle to share. He also kept busy mowing yards after retiring from the post office. Donnie is survived by one son, Dennis Leap of Camdenton, Missouri; four daughters, Pamela Scott and husband Johnnie, of Dadeville, Missouri, Kathy Saunders and husband Mitch of Nixa, Missouri, Jennifer Rogers of Linn Creek, Missouri, and Diane Walston of Camdenton, Missouri; three brothers, Paul Leap of Macks Creek, Missouri, Gary Leap of Phillipsburg, Missouri, and Jackson Leap, of Nashville, Tennessee; three sisters, Phyllis Eidson of Macks Creek, Missouri, Roberta Willis of Macks Creek, Missouri, and Donna Jones of Waterloo, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren, and twenty-five great-grandchildren along with several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Thelma; his parents, Jack and Teresa Leap; two brothers, Raymond and Kenneth Leap; three sisters, Brenda Leap, Sharon Shipman, and Glenna Cooper; his step-mother Mary Leap; four grandchildren, Brian Scott, Melissa Leap, Andy Reynolds and Jason Rogers; and one daughter-in-law Karen Leap.
