Obituary of Ronald Lee Smith

Ronald Lee Smith, age 51, of Camdenton, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015 at his home in Camdenton. He was the beloved husband of Gabriela (Perez) Smith; loving father of Gabriel Smith and Ronald Smith Jr.; stepfather of Jasmin Angel, Sandra Angel and Jesus Guerrero; dear brother of Rodney Smith and Tara Hunziker; son of Virginia and Earl Vaughn Smith; grandfather, uncle, brother-in-law, and friend to many. Ron was born on January 14, 1964 in Sedalia, Missouri. He was raised in Versailles, MO where he attended Versailles High School. He was united in marriage to Gabriela on August 6, 1986. Ron had a wide array of interests including listening to classic rock musicians such as The Beatles, Paul McCartney, Styx, Rush, The Cars, Pink Floyd and The Rolling Stones; watching classic television series and films such as The Twilight Zone, The Andy Griffith Show, Columbo, Dirty Harry, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High,; and was an avid sports fan of baseball and basketball, his favorites being the St. Louis Cardinals and the Boston Celtics, consecutively. Ronald enjoyed each of these things, but of course the love he felt for his family and the compassion he felt for Christ, were what he enjoyed most of all. Ron was also an avid traveler and often traveled across country with his family visiting numerous locations which included the Redwood Forest, Great Smoky Mountains, Rocky Mountains, Cascade Mountains, Grand Canyon, New York, Florida, Washington and many others. Ron had a wonderful sense of humor and enjoyed telling all kinds of jokes. He was a humble, simple man with a big heart.
