Obituary of Jack Davis Eidson

Jack Davis Eidson, age 79, of Preston, Missouri, departed this life Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Cox Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Jack was born December 29, 1935 in Macks Creek, Missouri to Sherman and Myrtle Edison. He grew up in Camden County. He was united in marriage July 10, 1957 to Vera Nadyne Stringer and together they shared 42 years until her passing in March 1999. Jack was someone who could be counted on to be himself. Loyal to his family and friends, he was honest, generous in spirit, and empathetic in nature. Small in stature, but physically strong and sturdily built, Jack was not afraid of hard work. His day began before the sun rose and often ended well after dusk. He was a farmer, proud of his domain and the ability to provide for his family. Jack never wanted material things. He worked hard and enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He extended his love and generosity to include family, friends, neighbors, and anyone else that had the good fortune to meet him along the way. Home was a gathering place where you were immediately greeted with a cup of coffee and conversation in the kitchen. You would hear the same stories, and when you left he would always say, �no need to rush off�. Jack is preceded in death by his parents Sherman and Myrtle Eidson; brother George Eidson; wife Vera Nadyne Eidson; and daughter Shirley Eidson. He is survived by his children, Clint Eidson (Marilyn), Beverly Steffens, Barbara Parrack, Ray L. Mackey (Yvonne), and Keith Mackey. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
