Obituary of Shirlie Jean Phillips

Shirlie Jean Phillips, age 83, of Roach, Missouri, departed this life Friday, March 27, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri. Shirlie was born January 26, 1932 in Kane, Illinois the daughter of Emil and Kathleen Mildred (Mundy) Dixon. Shirlie was united in marriage May 26, 1948 to Delbert Brooks who preceded her in death on July 8, 1989. She later married Roger Phillips August 13, 1990 who passed away in 1998. Shirlie is survived by her children Steven Brooks, of Buffalo, Missouri, David Brooks, of Kaiser, Missouri, Doug Brooks and wife Barbara, of Stockbridge, Georgia, Alicia Morris and husband Delbert, of Recaca, Georgia, Katherine Adernathy, of Bloomfield, New Mexico, Jeff Brooks and wife Sharon, of Farmington, New Mexico, and Tony Brooks and wife Sheri, of Camdenton, Missouri; her sister Betty Young and husband Buzz, of Kane, Illinois; twenty four grandchildren and twenty five great grandchildren; along with many other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents Emil and Kathleen Dixon; husbands Delbert Brooks and Roger Philips; her sisters, JoAnn Williams and Helen Kinnard; and brothers, Billy Dixon and Jerry Dixon. Shirlie was a member of First Baptist Church in Mack Creek, Missouri. She enjoyed crocheting, listening to music, reading mystery books, and shopping. More than anything though, she loved being with her family. In addition to memorial services listed, graveside services and interment will be Monday, April 6, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. at Green Lawn Cemetery in Farmington, New Mexico.
