Obituary of Misti Marie Puckett

Misti Marie Puckett was born in Rapid City, South Dakota on November 8, 1978 & departed this life on April 26, 2015 at the age of 36 at Columbia University Trauma Center in Columbia, Missouri after a long battle with COPD & asthma. She was the daughter of Ronnie Pierce & Barbara (Pierce) Ulferts. She graduated from Sturgis High School in Sturgis, South Dakota in 1998. She married Travis Puckett in Black Hawk, South Dakota on September 22, 2001. Two children were born of this union, Raine; 16, & Gavin; 10. They resided in Black Hawk, South Dakota until August, 2009, when they relocated to Lake Ozark, Missouri. Misti was the Neurofeedback Administrator at CALO until recently. Misti loved children of all ages & they loved her back. She would dance with them, make up songs & be very animated which would cause them to laugh and giggle. She babysat her nieces & nephews & talked about what they did together. She talked about them all the time always saying how much she loved them. Misti was a ray of sunshine to everyone who met her; she was a beautiful woman on the outside & beautiful on the inside which makes for a unique, special person. She was a caring compassionate person always there with her knowledge & understanding for anyone who had problems & needing someone to talk to. She was compassionate for her dogs Gator & Luna, a very nurturing, caring, mother always wanting the best for her children & teaching them the values of life which they will carry with them for all of their life. she could light up a room with her beautiful smile, twinkling eyes & quick wit as her Grandma Ruth & Grandpa Lowell Ellis loved so much. She was a spiritual person and believed in Jesus Christ as her Savior & she will have a special place in Heaven. She enjoyed social networking, reading swimming, music & singing along to music. She especially enjoyed being & doing thing with her family; her sister Mandi; her sister-in-Law Lacey; and her nieces & nephews. She is survived by her husband Travis, children Raine & Gavin of Lake Ozark; Father, Ronnie (Kathy) Pierce of Osage, Wyoming; Mother. Barbara (Larry) Ulferts of Montevideo, Minnesota; Brother, Shane (Lacey) Pierce of Lake Ozark, Missouri; Sister, Mandi (Gerald) McFarland of Rapid City, South Dakota; Mother-in-Law, Cathy Soelzer of Black Hawk, South Dakota; Father-in-Law, Don (Lorraine) of Piedmont, South Dakota; Sister-in-Law, Trin Puckett of Black Hawk, South Dakota; Grandmother, Dorothy Collingwood of Rapid City, South Dakota; Joshua (Beth) Soelzer & children of California; Tim Soelzer of Rapid City, South Dakota; & many nieces and nephews; Mariah, Cody, Carsen, & Maddie McFarland of Rapid City, South Dakota; Jordan, Brandon, Dylan, & Jaxon Pierce of Lake Ozark, Missouri. She was preceded in death by: Grandma, Ruth (Lowell) Ellis, and Brother-in-Law, Chris F. Soelzer. In addition to services listed, a 2nd service will be held May 9, 2015, at Grace United Methodist Church in Piedmont, South Dakota, at 10:30 a.m.
