Obituary of Harold Crowder
Harold W. (Mike) Crowder was born December 24, 1920 and died May 17, 2015. His 94 years of life were full of adventure. After retiring from his job in the state of California, he became a long time resident of Brumley, Missouri.
Mike was born in Maplewood, Missouri, the son of John Wesley and Lillian (Kruger) Crowder.
He was united in marriage June 2, 1947 in Reno, Nevada to Jenelle Ruby Jensen and together they shared 45 years of marriage before her death on October 22, 1992.
Mike is survived by his three daughters; Sharon L. Spicer-Bannister, of Iberia, Missouri, Kay H. Crowder, of San Gabriel, California/Brumley, Missouri, and Linda F. Crowder, of Brumley, Missouri; two adopted daughters, Patti Johnson, of Iberia, Missouri, and Cheryl Sander and husband, Leo, of Brumley, Missouri; three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren; plus his beloved dog and constant companion "Smokey"; along with several other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jenelle, and his parents John and Lillian Crowder.
Mike served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was present at Pearl Harbor. He was a Navy bugler and an accomplished musician. Mike enjoyed model trains and among his many talents, could build a home from the ground up. He loved music of all kinds and also enjoyed gambling.
