Obituary of Edward Bill Dolstein
Edward Bill Dolstein, age 90, of Gravois Mills, Missouri, died Friday, May 22, 2015 at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles, Missouri.
Bill was born May 16, 1925 in Kansas City, Kansas, the son of Edward William and Lucille (Herron) Dolstein. His parents both died at a young age and Bill was raised by his grandmother Elizabeth Dolstein in Versailles, Missouri.
He was united in marriage June 20, 1943 To Marian Lee Dolstein and together they shared 72 years full of love and laughter.
Bill is survived by his wife Marian of the home; two children, David Lee Dolstein and wife, Kathi and Sherry Elaine Cobb, and husband, John; five grandchildren, Ashley Cobb Phelan (Tommy), Whitney Cobb Zisman (Stan), Rebekah Dolstein Kramer (Gentry), Matthew David Dolstein (Shelley), and Rachel Dolstein Goepfert(Colin); ten great grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren; along with several other relatives and friends.
Bill served with the 45th Infantry during WWII and was awarded the distinguished Silver Star Medal, the Bronze Star Medal, and 3 Purple Heart Medals. After the war, Bill was employed by Kansas City's main post office for 31 years. When he retired, he was Superintendent of the Maintenance Department.
Bill loved gardening and music. His favorite music was old school country and the old Christian Hymns.
Bill was an active member of the following organizations: Gravois Mills United Methodist Church, Mason Lodge 320, Erie Star Order of Eastern Star, Scottish Rite, VFW, American Legion, Gravois Lion�s Club and DAV.
In addition to services listed, Masonic Services will be held Saturday, June 6, at 10:30 a.m. prior to visitation at the church.
