Obituary of Thurl Blair

At 2:20 am, Wednesday, June 3, 2015, Thurl Blair passed over to Heaven. Heaven is the place he has longed for. He has finally made it home. Can you imagine the scene in Heaven when he arrived? Thurl was born March 16, 1920 in Aunc Creek, near Reeds Springs, Missouri. He was the fourth child of seven. Thurl was the son of Luther Green and Ardella Mae (Pritchard) Blair. In 1932, at the age of 12, Thurl's family moved from Stone County to Camdenton, Missouri. On September 11, 1945, Thurl was united in marriage to Audrey Frances Osborn. They spent fifty-four and a half years together before Audrey passed away in March of 2000. Thurl was preceded in death by his wife Audrey and their two sons, David Blair and Dennis Blair; two grandsons, David Joseph Blair and Aaron Blair; two great-grandchildren, Noah Barnes and Skylar Jones. Thurl is survived by three daughters, Linda Honeyfield and her husband, Russell, of Collins, Missouri, Wanda Jones and her husband, Robert, of Roach, Missouri and Kathryn Slavens and her husband, David, of Roach, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren, Billy Blair, John Slavens, Jeannette Barnes, Lynn Melvin, Michelle Huffman, Donna Ray, Rachael Waterman, Clemet Jones, Stephen Jones, Kristina Wiethop, Elishia Perez, Amber Blair, Nathan Blair, Amy Hufford, and Jessica Warren; thirty three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; half-brother, Richard Blair and half-sister Suzan Garrett; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and many other relatives. Thurl loved witnessing about Jesus Christ. In 1940, he was saved at the First Baptist Church in Camdenton, Missouri. He was an active member of Ozark Bethel Chapel at the time of his death. Thurl and Audrey filled their retirement days with numerous hobbies. Thurl's favorite was horseshoes. Oh, how he loved making things with horseshoes...a ferris-wheel, chairs, picture frames, and fences. If he could dream it, the he had it made. Thurl will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Thurl was a loving son, husband, father, and grandfather. His final wish was to see his whole family in Heaven.
