Obituary of Jose E. Raphel

Jose E. Raphel, age 69, of Osage Beach, Missouri, departed this life Thursday, July 23, 2015 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. Jose was born February 25, 1946 in Havana, Cuba, the son of Dr. Jose and Hartensia (Aguero) Raphel. At 16 years of age, he emigrated to the United States during the Cuban takeover by Castro. Jose was united in marriage August 1, 1970 in Dodge City, Kansas, to Teresa Marak. Together they shared nearly 45 years of marriage until his death. In San Antonio, Texas he served five years as an Air Force doctor, where he earned the rank of Major. He later worked at the St. Joseph State Hospital as a Physician Psychiatrist. Jose retired and moved to Lake of the Ozarks where he began his "second" career with Pathways. Jose enjoyed his life at the lake; he loved the water. Jose was also an avid reader and enjoyed music of all kinds. Jose is survived by his wife Teresa of the home; his only sibling, Alberto Raphel and wife, Gladys, retired, currently residing in San Miguel Allende, Mexico; several nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Jose and Hartensia Raphel.
