Obituary of Susanne B. Shields

Susanne B. Shields, age 72, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, departed this life Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at Lakeside Meadows in Lake Ozark. Susanne was born February 16, 1943 in Beach Grove, Indiana, the daughter of Elmer and Mary (Harrison) Borgman. She was united in marriage August 8, 1969 in Arlington, Virginia to Alden Shields and together they shared 46 years of marriage at the time of her death. Susanne was a graduate of Bethany college, Lindsborg, Kansas. Before retiring, Susanne taught in the public schools of Burlington, Kansas and the Shawnee Mission School district in Overland Park, Kansas. Recently, she taught Parish School at Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church. Susanne was a loving and caring person who devoted her life to others, having cared for several children in the lake area. Susanne was a member of Our Lady of The Lake Catholic Church in Lake Ozark. Susanne is survived by her husband Alden Shields; two sons, Aaron Shields of Kansas City, Missouri, and Jesse Shields of Lake Ozark, Missouri; one brother Paul Borgman and wife Millie; along with several other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Mary Borgman.
