Obituary of Jerry Teichgraeber

Jerry Teichgraeber, age 77, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. Jerry was born July 9, 1938 in Salina, Kansas, the son of Otto and Mildred (Overton) Teichgraeber. Jerry served his country proudly in the United States Navy. Jerry was united in marriage June 26, 1982 in Emporia, Kansas to Jeniene Briggs, and together they enjoyed 33 years of marriage until his death. Jerry taught and coached in Lebo, Kansas for many years before moving to Lake of the Ozarks. After moving to the lake, Jerry owned and operated his own painting business. Jerry was an outgoing and caring person who never met a stranger. He was passionate about community involvement and was a member of several organizations through the years including the Elks Lodge in Osage Beach, Missouri, Arab Shrine of North America in Topeka, Kansas, American Legion Post in Lebo, Kansas, Masonic Lodge, Lebo, Kansas, Cabarai Shrine, Topeka, Kansas, and Past Potentate of Arab Shrine of Topeka, Kansas. Jerry is survived by his wife Jeniene, of the home; his daughters, Peggy Fort and husband, Dennis, of Osage City, Kansas, Sally Teichgraeber and friend Angela Pham, of Houston, Texas, and April Hooks of Brenham, Texas; his step-son Lennie Facklim and wife, Susan, of Gardner, Kansas; his step-daughters Peggy Miller and husband, David, of Emporia, Kansas, and Jeri Scheve and husband, Roger, of Emporia, Kansas; three sisters, Jean Duncan and husband, Vernon, of Homewood, Illinois, Janet Buchanan of Boulder, Colorado, and Judy Myers of Orange Valley, California; sixteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; along with several other relatives and friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Otto and Mildred Teichgraeber; one brother; and one great-grandson.
