Obituary of Roy Dean Hight

Roy Dean Hight, age 77, of Macks Creek, Missouri, departed this life Friday, October 30, 2015 at Lake Regional Health System, Osage Beach, Missouri. Roy Dean was born May 6, 1938 in Independence, Missouri, the son of Roy E. and Roberta (Eldred) Hight. Roy Dean was a builder and developer who developed Lake Chaparral in Hallsville, Missouri and Jack's Creek Retreat in Macks Creek, Missouri. He also designed and built The Pavilion in Macks Creek, Missouri. He was co-founder of the Missouri Country Music Hall of Fame. Roy Dean inherited his father's love for country music. He played the guitar and sang with a voice reminiscent of country music star, Marty Robbins. Roy Dean loved to fish, hunt, and care for farm animals. He drove for Oats Transportation for over five years. He was strong minded, but won others over, always with a twinkle in his eye. Roy Dean is survived by his brothers Don Hight(Joyce), of Tupelo, Mississippi; Dennis Hight(Linda), of Oak Grove, Missouri, David Hight(Marilyn) of Grain Valley, Missouri, and Danny Hight(Susie), of Oak Grove, Missouri; his best friend, soulmate, and wife of many years Cindy Hight of Macks Creek, Missouri; his son, Michael Dean Hight (Cathy) of Hallsville, Missouri; his daughter Kathy Klemme (Jeff) of Hallsville, Missouri; his step-son Samuel B.Ganz (Olga), of Madison, Wisconsin; his step-daughters, Dr. Mary Ganz Schoen (Dr. Bob), of Brookfield, Wisconsin, Marti Couch (Cliff) of Corinth, Texas, Marcia Kuper (Rick) of Bay Village, Ohio, Michelle McKinzie (Dixon) of Chicago, Illinois, Miriam Litterer of Melissa, Texas, Jeanne Kee (Bill) of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Judi Ganz O'Brien (Leo) of Owings Mills, Maryland; four grandchildren, Jason Klemme (Lis) of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Kayla Klemme of Hallsville, Missouri, Andy Hight (Emily) of Trenton, Missouri, and Kelsey Hight of Hallsville, Missouri; twenty-four step-grandchildren, Luke Schoen (Karen). Emily Branch (Michael) Joel Gorman (Amanda), Christopher Gorman, Mary Andersen (Reid), Sean Gorman, Caitlyn Couch, Rick Kuper (Amanda) Jack Kuper, Michael Kuper, Samantha McKinzie, Amanda McKinzie, Jonathan Litterer (Rachel), Ame Litterer, Will Litterer, Kaitlyn Rodriquez,(Kristopher), Reina Ganz, Mia Ganz, Erin Kee, Will Kee, Elle O'Brien, Kennedy O'Brien, Thomas O'Brien and Isaac O'Brien;one great-granddaughter, Corrine; seven step great grandchildren, Leigh, Samuel, Aidan, Isis, Carlyn, Violit, and Paisley. Several nieces, nephews many other family and friends. Roy Dean was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Roberta Hight and one grandson Joseph Klemme.
