Obituary of Michael Allen Smith

Michael Allen Smith (Always Faithful), age 52, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, died Sunday, November 15, 2015 at his home in Lake Ozark. Michael was born March 5, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Howard and Mary (DeWitt) Smith. Michael was united in marriage August 25,2011 in Lake Ozark, Missouri, to Susan Craig. Michael served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. More recently, he worked as a restaurant manager. Among his many interests, Michael enjoyed cooking, martial arts, and spending time outdoors with nature. He loved animals and kids, and was an avid historian. Michael was most proud of the time he spent serving with the Marines. Michael is survived by his wife, Susan of the home; four sons, Eric Smith and wife, Amanda, of Bryant, Arkansas, Aaron Waldrop of Kansas City, Missouri, Christopher Waldrop of Columbia, Missouri, and Sean Zeiger of Springfield, Missouri; six daughters, Amber Smith of Brenerton, Washington, Jessica Smith of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Elizabeth Wolfgang of Osage Beach, Missouri, Katlin Oppliger of Lake Ozark, Missouri, Jackalinn Whittle of Lake Ozark, Missouri, and Kimberlynd Whittle of Lake Ozark, Missouri; three brothers, Brian Smith and wife Elyse, of Raymore, Missouri, Ryan Smith and wife Melody of Lamar, Missouri, and Bret Smith and wife, Lisa, of Acampo, California; eight grandchildren; his mother Mary Smith of Sunrise Beach, Missouri; along with several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Howard Smith.
