Obituary of Phyllis Lavern Smith

Phyllis Lavern Smith, age 66, of Macks Creek, Missouri, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2015 at her home in Macks Creek. Phyllis was born June 29, 1949, in Branch, Missouri, the fifth of seven children to Johnnie Linwood and Ella Fay (Palmer) Smith. Phyllis loved her Lord and Savior and was a member of the Tunas Christian Church in Tunas, Missouri. As a young girl growing up, Phyllis was very close to her widowed mother and continued to care for her during her long illness. Phyllis was also a caregiver for her brother David, who became a victim of M.S. During this time, Phyllis also worked for Modine Manufacturing in Camdenton, Missouri until retiring. Phyllis was an avid collector of many things, which she loved giving to her friends. Phyllis loved her many nieces and nephews and also the children of her friends. Phyllis was preceded in death by her father and mother; her brother Loren of Seattle, WA; her sister-in-law Brenda Smith, wife of Herbert; her brother David of the home; and also an infant brother Charles. She is survived by her sister-in-law Lya Ray Smith of Seattle, WA; her brother Herbert Smith of Salt Lake, UT; her brother Wendell and wife, Joann Smith, of Macks Creek, Missouri; her sister Jessie and husband, Jauquin Diaz of Atascadero, CA; and many nieces, nephews and many friends who will miss her dearly.
