Obituary of Ethel Irene Letner

Long-time resident of the Lake area, Ethel Irene Letner passed away at the age of 97 on February 9, 2016 at Osage Beach, Missouri. Preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ethel King, sister Chris, husband William and step-son Richard. Survived by step -children, Jean Letne, William (Barb), Robert (Joy), Charles (Edna), and Michael; grandchildren & great-grandchildren; caregiver and friend, Loretta DuPree, close friends, Val and Charlie Franke, and Kim Scott. Irene, as she was known by family and friends, had a full and busy life. She was an avid, gardener, gifted painter, and played piano and organ. She loved to sew, making her clothing without the aid of patterns. Irene attended Webster University in St Louis, Mo. She had her own styling salon, taught nutrition at community college in Texas and worked for the Federal government before she retired. Irene was a parishioner at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and a resident at Lakeside Meadows Retirement Home. She will be remembered with love by all whose lives she touched.
