Obituary of Shirley Mae Sims

Shirley Mae Sims "MeMe", age 78, of Camdenton, Missouri, departed this life Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Camdenton Windsor Estates in Camdenton, Missouri. Shirley was born March 31, 1937 in Gainesville, Missouri, the daughter of Clifford and Ola Johnson Loftis. Shirley was united in marriage to Bob Sims, on March 10, 1955 in Gainesville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 2, 2004 after 49 years of marriage. Shirley was a loving and devoted wife and helpmate to her husband Bob and a caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother to her children and their families. She was a devoted country music fan, and especially enjoyed listening to Randy Travis and George Strait. Shirley also enjoyed deer hunting in her younger years and was crazy about her dog Bambi. She loved romance novels, crossword puzzles, gossip magazines, and her home was filled with plants. But Shirley's greatest joy in life was her family, whom she loved and adored. Shirley will be missed dearly by her family and friends. Shirley is survived by her sons, Brad Sims and wife, Shawna, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma and Bart Sims and wife Mary, of Camdenton, Missouri; one sister, Bonnie Siney, of Wichita, Kansas; three brothers, Elza Loftis, Paul Loftis and wife Peggy, Gene Loftis and wife Francis all of Gainesville, Missouri seven grandchildren, Jake, Jaymi, Joe, Josh, Jenna, Jessi, and Dareyk; two great grandchildren, Jack and Emmett; and numerous nieces and nephews. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Ola Loftis, and her husband Bob.
