Obituary of Joy E. Bender

Joy E Bender, age 62, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. Joy was born March 25, 1953, in Manito, Illinois, the daughter of Frederick “Fritz” and Hazel (Waldon) Bender. Joy had a passion of caring for others and worked as a trauma nurse. Later, she joined the Medical Air Rescue Corps, with Saint Louis University, as member of the first medical flight crew in St. Louis. She also served as treasurer at Elks Lodge #2517 in Osage Beach for many years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed sports from early on in age and was an avid Cardinals and Billikens fan. Joy is survived by two daughters, Nicole Johnson of Breckenridge, CO, and Danielle Johnson of Lake Ozark, MO; two sons Ryan Johnson and wife Ladonna of Denver, CO and Trenton Johnson also of Denver; two grandchildren, Olivia Johnson and Brooks Johnson; two sisters LaDonne Snavely, husband Jim of Farmington, MO and Bonnie Urish of Osage Beach, MO. Joy was preceded in death by her parents Frederick and Hazel Bender and brother Bob Bender.
