Obituary of Eleanor Ann Petersen

Eleanor Ann Petersen, of Osage Beach Missouri, formerly from Bloomington, Illinois, passed away on May 1, 2016, surrounded by family and friends. Ann was born as the oldest of three children on May 6, 1941, to John Paul and Mildred Eleanor (White) Quindry. She moved to Osage Beach in 1982, where she recently celebrated 44 years of marriage with her best friend and husband Walter. Ann was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and was an avid reader of all genres. She was a fan of the old movies, including silent movies. Her music of choice was from the Big Band and Jazz eras. Ann had a gift of recall and astounded many with her knowledge of a wide range of authors and their works, of artists, actors, or musicians. English history, particularly regarding Henry VIII and his many wives, was especially interesting to Ann. She could discuss each of Henry’s wives in accurate and colorful detail. Ann enjoyed needlework including knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. Her family and friends learned much from Ann and will miss the inner strength that she silently projected. Ann is survived by her stepchildren Theresa Ullmayer (Walter) of Alaska, and Dan Petersen of Florida; her stepgrandchildren, Joseph McQuerry, Danielle Petersen, and Claressa Ullmayer; brothers, John Quindry and Richard Quindry (Carole) of Arizona; nephew John Carl Quindry (Tiffany) of Alabama; nieces Emily (Randoph) Hamtil and Jennifer (Jacob) Shorr; great nieces Joelle, Moria, Miriam, Gwendolyn, Naomi, and Kendall Hobbs; Great Nephew John Calvin; Cousin Mary Anna Dahm (Lewis) of Colorado; and numerous other relatives and friends. Ann also leaves behind special angels to she and Walter and these include Natosha Marcum, January Meyer, and Stephanie Mulholland, all of Missouri. Ann was preceded in death by her husband Walter; her parents; Walter’s parents; stepdaughter Deborah; and numerous other relatives and friends.
