Obituary of Irene Lydia Garcia

Irene Garcia, 92, of Camdenton, Missouri, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. Irene was born October 24, 1923 on the farm, the daughter of Louis and Marie (Meier) Kloepper. She graduated from Atchison County Senior High School in Effingham, Kansas. Irene moved to Chicago and went to work for RCA Entertainment. She later worked as a secretary at several Kansas City companies over the years. Irene met her future husband at the Aragon Ball Room in Chicago. She married Jack Anthony Garcia at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Chicago, on August 30, 1947. After 2 years, they relocated to Effingham, Kansas, where they bought and operated a farm located next door to her birth home. Around 1953, they moved to Kansas City, Missouri. They retired to the Lake of the Ozarks in 1983, where they built a home at Camelot Estates. Irene loved boating, socializing, reading, and making rosaries to give away. More than anything, Irene enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include daughter Toni (Jan) Lippincott, of Topeka, Kansas; three sons, Richard (Paula) of Lincoln, Nebraska, Robert of Fairway, Kansas, and Mark Garcia Anderson of Moberly, Missouri; along with ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Jack; her parents; by her youngest son, John Garcia; and by four siblings, sisters, Frieda, Emma and Marie, and brother Bill Kloepper.
