Obituary of Wila D. Hicks

Wila D. Hicks, 94, of Macks Creek, Missouri, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016 at Windsor Estates Care Center in Camdenton, MIssouri. Wila was born September 7, 1921, in Roach, Missouri the son of Vinal and Inez (Heimbaugh) Hicks. He was united in marriage July 18, 1942 to Elda Faye Stoufer, who preceded him in death December 6, 2003. Wila served in the United States Army during World War II, and after being honorably discharged, returned to his roots where he enjoyed his life cattle and crop farming his land in Macks Creek. Wila also enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. Wila was a member of Mission Ridge Missionary Baptist Church in Macks Creek, Missouri. Wila is survived by three sons, William Ralph Hicks and wife, Milda, Richard Leon Hicks and wife, Cherrie, and Randall Darwin Hicks and wife,Sandi, all of Macks Creek, Missouri; two daughters, Sonja Jane Rowley of Denver, Colorado and Gretchen Kathryn Campbell and husband, Kenneth L., Jr., of Macks Creek, Missouri; eleven grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and eleven great-great grandchildren; along with several other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elda; his daughter, Sadra Ollison; five brothers, Louis Hicks, Edward Hicks, Carl Hicks, George Hicks and Roma Hicks; one granddaughter, Teresa Welty; one grandson Robert Seek; and one great-great grandchild.
