Obituary of Roland Gooding

Roland (Rolly) Gooding, age 80, died on June 25, 2016 in Osage Beach, Missouri. He was born December 31, 1935 in Belleville, Illinois. Rolly married Joan Schwellensattl on January 22, 1959. His family was extremely important to him and he loved them very much. He proudly served in the Navy from 1954-1957. He was employed by Union Electric for 35 years. Rolly and Joan moved to the Lake of the Ozarks in March 1980. He was an active member of the Elks, Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church and a volunteer at Lake Regional Health System. Rolly lived a long and happy life. He exuded kindness and love to all he met and he received it in kind. Even with the challenges of the past 5 years, he approached it with courage, strength and a sense of humor beyond measure. He was preceded in death by his parents. Roland and Juanita,(nee Case), Gooding; and his sister, Darlene Duffy. Surviving are his wife, Joan; his children, Judy (Bob) Brauer, Mike (Teri) Gooding and Angie Henry; sisters, Sharon Stoddard and Brenda (Dwight) Hartwick; as well as a sister-in-law; and his nieces and nephews. He was blessed with many grandchildren; Ryan (Amber Nordike) Brauer, Aaron (Casey) Brauer, Chris (Christine) Gooding, Kari (Nick) Hale, Matthew, Jessica and Jennifer Henry; and great grandchildren, James Roland Brauer, Owen Brooks, Morgan Brauer, Addison Gooding, Peyton and Brooklyn Hale.
