Obituary of Evelyn Jean Ward

Evelyn Jean Ward, “Jean”, age 82, of Montreal Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, July 21, 2016, at her home in Montreal. Jean was born September 23, 1933, in Merriam, Kansas, the daughter of Ernest and Melissa Parks Conn. She was united in marriage to Bob Ward on October 14, 1950 in Merriam, Kansas. He preceded her in death on April 10, 2003. Jean loved animals of every kind and in her younger years she enjoyed riding horses. A woman of many talents, she wrote poetry and also three children’s books. She and Bob enjoyed traveling and meeting people. She enjoyed shopping, especially for jewelry, and redesigning her homes. But of all the things she enjoyed doing, her greatest joy in life was her family. They learned much from Jean and will miss the inner strength that she possessed. Jean is survived by her daughters; Cindy Schonrock, and husband Steve, of Camdenton, Missouri, and Roxanne Christensen and husband, Roy, of Montreal, Missouri; two sons, Mark Ward of Linn Creek, Missouri and Ray Ward and wife, De’Anne, of Linn Creek, Missouri; five grandchildren, Becky Allen, Chuck Poe, Cheyenne Weibers, Shane Mustain and Jessica Acheson; eight great grandchildren; and her sister; Marge Garner, of Shawnee, Kansas. Jean was preceded in death by her husband Bob; her parents, Ernest and Melissa Conn; her, sisters Sis Swanson, Ada Martin, Frieda Van Walleghem, Mary Zarda, and Marie Conn, and her brothers, Carl Conn, Raymond Conn, and Elmer Conn.
