Obituary of Emmagene Calvert

Emmagene Calvert was born July 20, 1925. She passed away August 7, 2016 in Oklahoma at the age of 91. Emmagene was born in Montreal, Missouri to Charlie and Myrtle (Sears) Jones. She married Carl Calvert on December 5, 1941 who preceded her in death. Emmagene had four children, survived by one son Dennis Calvert and wife Terry of Oklahoma, preceded in death by Cecil Calvert, Annette Proffitt and Fred Calvert as well as Grandsons Bradley Proffitt and Chad Calvert She is also survived by four grandchildren; Randy Proffitt wife Jennifer, Joshua Calvert wife Princess, Amanda Hancock husband Jeremy and Jacob Calvert wife Kirsten. Seven great grandchildren; Jacob Calvert, Kameron Calvert, Tyler Calvert, Gabriel Proffitt, Mackenzie Proffitt, Elijah Hancock and Micah Hancock, one sister; Lela Henry of Montreal. Preceded in death by brothers; Roy Jones, Walter Jones, Earl Jones, sisters Grace Gum, Elsie York, Ethel Barfield and Leona Green. Carl and Emmagene moved to Kansas City in 1951 and lived there until she retired in 1984. Emmagene worked for Mayflower in Overland Park, Kansas for 14 years when she retired at age 59. She was a long standing member of 13th Street Tabernacle. After retiring she was a member of Buffalo Prairie Baptist Church in Montreal, MO until her death. Mom loved her church and family. She was an avid Bible reader since 1991. She has read the Bible cover to cover 26 times and was working on number 27. She was a noted prayer warrior and believed that God was the answer to all our problems. If you did not know Jesus, she was praying for you. If you did not go to church, she was praying for you.
