Obituary of Jean Blake Hunkeler

Jean Blake Hunkeler, age 79, of Linn Creek, Missouri, departed this life Thursday, August 18, 2016 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. Jean was born September 25, 1936 in Perry, Missouri, the daughter of Amos and Deloris (Whippel) Blake. Jean was married to Donald Hunkeler on November 8, 1958 in St Louis, Missouri. They shared over 58 years of marriage together at the time of her death. Jean was an RN and worked at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, and being actively involved in her church and the senior center. Her greatest joy in life, was her family. Jean loved taking care of her family and cooking special dishes for her grandchildren. Jean was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Osage Beach. Jean is survived by her husband Donald; her daughter, Donna Carlson and husband, John, of Eureka, Missouri; three grandchildren, Jacob, Alan and Jesse; her brother Wayne Blake of Mexico, Missouri; three sisters, Gail Lazar and husband, Meir, of Columbia, Missouri, Jo Schumate husband, Eddie, of Perry, Missouri, and Karen Rutherford and husband, Gale, of Paris, Missouri; along with several other relatives and friends. Jean was preceded in death by her parents Amos and Deloris Blake; her son Brian; and two sisters, Ruth Beabout and Sue McKinny.
