Obituary of Dennis Joseph Hurbis

Dennis Joseph Hurbis passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach, Missouri. Dennis was born February 28, 1946 in Racine, Wisconsin, the son of Joseph and LaVerne Hurbis. Dennis served in the U.S. Army at Bresmerhaven, Germany from December 21, 1965 until being honorably discharged December 5, 1971. Dennis worked as a firefighter in Racine, Wisconsin from April 19, 1969 to December 31, 1995, and later for Mid-County Fire District in Camdenton, Missouri from 2000-to 2016. Dennis was united in marriage to Valerie T. Wiseman on April 13, 1984 in Racine, Wisconsin. Dennis is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 32 years, Valerie; and step son Robert Wiseman and Robert's wife, Elisa Wiseman, of Alpine, Oregon; a step daughter Jennifer Wiseman Goodman of Snohomish, Washington; three step grandchildren, Maia Wiseman of Portland, Oregon, and Tatiana and Lukas Goodman of Snohomish, Washington. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and LaVerne Hurbis; and his sister Gail Hurbis Madsen. Dennis was laid to rest at Veterans Cemetery in Union Grove, Wisconsin, at 10:00 am, August 29, 2016.
