Obituary of David R. Larson

David R. Larson, departed this life, Thursday September 8, 2016 at approximately 11:45 pm, surrounded by his family at his home in Macks Creek, Missouri. David was born November 10, 1946 in Fitchburg, Mass to Harold R. Larson and Pearl G. (Brown) Larson of Fitchburg Mass. Dave was united in marriage to Betty M. LaPlante on January 16, 1965 at Westover Air Force Base in Chicopee, Mass and to this union two sons were born; David R. Larson Jr. and Erik Larson. Dave is survived by his wife Betty, of the home; together they shared 50 years of marriage; son, David R. Larson Jr of Sacramento CA and his children Ross and Breanna Larson; son, Erik Larson and wife Kelly of Macks Creek MO and their sons Elijah and Seth Larson. Also surviving Dave are his sister Barbara Scarey of Macks Creek MO, Karl Larson and his wife Roselinda of Grayeagle CA; along with several nieces and nephews; and his special girl, Missy, the Italian Greyhound. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Paula Atkins. Dave joined the Air Force in 1964 and proudly served until 1975. He was a crew chief on the B52 with deployment to Guam several times, and once to Thailand during the Vietnam War. He departed his military service as a Staff Sergeant. Upon entering the work force, he drove a truck for many years and many miles across the U.S. until June of 2000. Dave also worked for the Camdenton RIII School District as a custodian for 10 years and later as a bus driver for 5 years until December of 2015 when his health would no longer allow. He was affectionately known as Mr. Dave to staff and students. Dave will be sorely missed by all of us who knew and loved him.
