Obituary of Larry Wayne DeBrot

Larry Wayne DeBrot, age 76, of Bolivar, Missouri, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2016 at his home, after a battle with cancer. Larry was born November 8, 1939 in Raytown, Missouri, the son of George and Dollie Davis DeBrot. Larry was united in marriage to Virgie Meads on September 29, 1957, in Miami, Oklahoma to this union two children were born, Michael and Kathryn. Larry owned and operated an auto body shop. He truly loved to “tinker” and work on anything to make it run or useable. He also enjoyed spending time outdoors hunting, and watching deer. Larry made a profession of faith and was baptized in 1989 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Larry was a loving and devoted husband, and a caring father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his children and their families. His legacy will live on through them. Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 59 years, Virgie; son Michael and wife Susan of Independence, MO; daughter Kathryn Mazza and husband Thomas of Bethany, MO; sisters Georgia Bell Rogers and husband, Bob, of Grandview, MO and Betty Jean Barry and husband, John, of Grandview, MO; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents George and Dollie DeBrot and his brother Lewis Calvin.
