Obituary of Robert Otto Hahn
Robert Otto Hahn, age 90, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri.
Bob was born on January 7, 1926, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Otto and Margaret (Hasey) Hahn, and graduated from Cleveland High School in 1944.
Bob is survived by his children—Marsha and her husband, Jeff Marden and Robert and his wife, Carol Hahn of St. Louis, Missouri; his stepchildren—Brooke McCarrick and husband, Dan, of Lake Ozark, Missouri, and Scott Smith and wife, Nicole, of Dallas, Texas; brother—Bill Hahn of Kerrville, Texas; his first wife—Marie Hahn of St. Louis, Missouri; three grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
His parents, Otto and Margaret Hahn, his wife, Pam Smith Hahn, and his son, Alan Gregory Hahn, preceded him in death.
Bob was very proud of his military service. He was a flight engineer in the Army Air Corp on a PBY-5a Catalina where his crew’s primary mission was air-sea rescue. He frequently reminisced about his dream of becoming a pilot and the opportunity he turned down to join TWA.
Bob enjoyed a long career in merchandising, manufacturing and sales of fine jewelry. He was a Certified Gemologist and always willing to help friends and family with their jewelry questions and purchases. His spirit will live on as many of us wear the exquisite pieces he designed.
Bob was very involved in his community. He was a volunteer at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri, and Osage Beach Senior Center, a member of the Elks and Jazz Society, a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner and a member of Unity at the Lake Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir.
