Obituary of Gladys Mae Horseman

Gladys Mae Horseman, age 84, was born in Bath County, Kentucky on June 13, 1932 to Claude Donaldson and Elsie Marie Hughes. She departed this life November 30, 2016 in Warrensburg, Missouri. Gladys moved to Platte City, Missouri in 1936. She married Russell Bryce Horseman of Weston, Missouri in 1948 in Leavenworth, Kansas. In 1966 they moved to the Lake of the Ozarks and she lived mostly in the lake area until September 2016 when, in her words, her heart just wore out. She then lived with her granddaughter in Warrensburg, Missouri until her passing. She spent her final hours listening to hymns and thinking about going home to be with the Lord. Gladys had four children; Sheila Marie, Russell Wayne, Milton Lee, and Regenia Pearl. Her two daughters and her husband, "Red", as most people knew him, have passed on before her. She has two remaining sons; twelve grandchildren; twenty two great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren; along with a handful of cousins in Indiana; numerous friends; as well as many brothers and sisters in Christ. Gladys was a gentle soul, always giving and concerned for the well being of others. She often put others before herself and served many people humbly during her 84 years. Her quick wit and shy humor often made people smile. Her graciousness was abundant even during difficult times. Gladys attended church faithfully at Blue Springs Baptist Church. She was baptized there on November 13, 1994. Gladys was a faithful servant to God and to her church. She would proclaim His love, grace and mercy any chance she got, to whoever needed the witness. She was also a tremendous prayer warrior and avidly studied the Bible. Gladys was an amazing Christian role model to all who knew her. She will be happy in her new home with her Heavenly Father and dear family waiting for her there.
