Obituary of Bruce D. Bretz

Bruce D. Bretz, age 81, of Osage Beach, Missouri, passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at Lake Regional Health System in Osage Beach. Bruce was born December 28, 1934 in Wapello, Iowa, the son of Russell and Marie (Crow) Bretz. Bruce served his country proudly in the United States Marines. Bruce was united in marriage April 26, 1961 to Norma Minor and together they shared over 55 years of marriage at the time of his death. After his service in the US Marines, Bruce worked as a tool and die maker for The Boeing Company After his retirement from Boeing, he relocated to Lake of the Ozarks where he enjoyed living the lake life. He loved water skiing and was an avid boat racing fan. Bruce also enjoyed car racing and watching football. Bruce was a member of Lake Presbyterian Church in Osage Beach. Bruce is survived by his wife Norma; his son Mike Gottman and wife, Cindy, of Sioux Falls, South Dakota; his daughter Cathryn Steingrubey and husband, Fran, of Osage Beach, Missouri; his sister Jean Bean of Moline, Illinois; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Russell and Marie Bretz; two brothers; and two sisters.
