Obituary of Jeffrey Lynn Hargus
Jeffrey Lynn Hargus, age 25, of Montreal, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 22, 2016 at his home in Montreal.
Jeff was born September 18, 1991 in Osage Beach, Missouri, the son of Tim and Stacy Hargus.
Jeff was a 2010 graduate of Camdenton High School. He was very active in FFA and participated in county fairs including the Missouri State Fair, showing hogs and steers. He received his associate’s degree in science from Coffeyville Community College in Coffeyville, Kansas, where he was also on the livestock and meat judging teams. He continued to be involved in the showing aspect by helping his younger brother, Ryan succeed in the show ring. If it wasn’t for Jeff, his family would not be raising show hogs. His passion for pigs started at an early age and that passion never wavered. He tried many jobs, but he always came back to working around, and with livestock.
Jeff enjoyed fishing, especially jugging for catfish. He was an avid sports fan, enjoying everything from football, basketball, soccer and anything sports related. He was " our very own commentator", because he would tell you the college and position a player came from, and all the information a commentator would know. Most of all Jeff enjoyed being with family and friends.
Jeff is survived by his parents Tim and Stacy Hargus; his brother, Ryan of Springfield, Missouri; his grandfather’s wife, Julia Hargus of Overland Park, Kansas; and numerous aunts, uncles, great uncle and aunt, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frank and Peg Zuroweste; his paternal grandmother Nancy Jane McLennan and her husband Art; and paternal grandfather Clark L Hargus; as well as some uncles and aunts.
